Sigi Tolo means Sirius in Dogon. Their mythology is profound. They knew about complex astronomy far before the birth of modern science. This piece is my homage to their culture and fascinating history. Sound: Atomic Phantom

This is a soundtrack of Jyoti’s daily life in Auroville. He composes this music as Atomic Phantom, his alias, since the beginning of 2021, when he started pursuing music as part of his artistic endeavour. This particular piece is related to his covid lockdown experience that forced him to question what is essential in life. In spite of the social anxiety caused by the situation, for him, family life and connection with nature grew deeper than ever before. Two Aurovilians, Noel from the USA and Jyoti from Japan have started the Japanese garden project in Auroville Botanical gardens in 2015. This project is dedicated to the creation of a modern Japanese garden devoted to Peace. Although there was a shortage in funds they managed with in-kind donations and volunteers to start the project. It uses locally sourced plants and materials. They extensively chose recycled materials in order to contribute to sustainability that is aligned with Japanese garden making. Gradually they received more support from different parts of the world and, though the fundraising efforts of Noel they managed to manifest their dream to this present state. Work is still ongoing and there is still lots of detail work to be done, but the garden is finally ready to welcome visitors. They wish this garden to be a living prayer for peace and harmony.
