Jyoti Naoki Eri / Studio Eri / Nādāsana

For the past six months I have been working on this music project as one of the fruitions of my personal covid experience. Some time later suddenly a friend invited me to start a music label, and Nādāsana was born.

This label mainly focuses on ambient, soundscape and experimental music. I have listened to ambient music since the mid 90s and listened a lot again during the covid lockdowns.
For our first release a group of talented artists from all over the world accepted my invitation to this project.
This first project was inspired by the Golden Record by NASA as part of their Voyager project. The project was curated by Dr Carl Sagan.
The legendary electronic music artist from the U.K. Matt Black who is the co-founder of Cold Cut/ Ninja Tune kindly agreed to offer his exclusive track to this compilation album. I’m profoundly thankful to his kind support and advice as his creations widely opened my music experience since the 90’s. I am very grateful for the collaboration with all the artist in this project. All the participating artists are well-known in their own right on/off line platforms. Over all the creative process was a truly inspiring and enriching experience.

この６カ月のあいだ準備をしてきましたプロジェクトを今日発表します。コロナでの厳しいロックダウンの間に構想し、ある縁をきっかけに音楽のレーベルを始めることになりました。まず第一弾はアンビエント・サウンドスケープのコンピレーションアルバムで世界各国からのアーティストがこの企画に賛同してくれました。
第一弾のアルバムのコンセプトはNasaのヴォイジャープロジェクトに搭載された地球各地の音楽や５５か国の言語などを録音したゴールデンレコードにインスパイアされました。総勢10名の参加アーティストは皆、自国以外でも活躍するアーティストたちで、このアルバムのコンセプトに合わせた楽曲をそれぞれ提供してくれました。
特にイギリスのエレクトロニック・ミュージック界の重鎮、Matt Black (Cold Cut / Ninja Tune) がこのアルバムのために一曲提供してくれたことは意義深く、このレーベルの門出に大きな花を添えてくれることとなりました。９０年代からMatt氏率いるNinjaTuneの作品郡には多大に影響を受けてきたのでとても光栄に思います。

[Concept] It is year 2102. An intergalactic sonic research laboratory – Nādāsana – has launched their first sonic space probe mission into the majestic galaxy, Messier 31 – The Andromeda Galaxy. Following the example of the golden record of NASA’s Voyager project which was led by Dr Carl Sagan(1934-1996), Nādāsana has curated fine ambient music pieces to establish contact with sensory conscious beings in outer space through sounds created on planet Earth. Nādāsana considers ambient music to be music of evolutive creation, encouraging inclusiveness through time and space. Doing so, it opens a poetic and spiritual sphere of music for consideration which could offer a glimpse of the hidden stream of the eternal sonic creations of the universe. Nādāsana is an experiment to uncover the ancient mystery of AUM – Everything is Sound.

NOTE: This project is an imaginary concept (as of 2022). The selection of music can be highly biased, however Nādāsana’s love of music is honest and genuine.
